THE #1 RELAXED SUMMER OUTFIT

Under the hot summer sun, a perfect eyelet lace tier maxi dress paired with thong sandals make a tedious day more tolerable. Here′s a little bit of science that I did not know. We′re all encouraged to wear white in the summer, since white or light-colored clothing is supposed to keep us cool. I love an effortless billowy white dress with a timeless style from season to season. But basic physics and biology says, NOT so. In fact, black clothing is the best way to keep cool in the heat. We were taught that white reflects light and that′s perfectly correct. Except that this explanation is also incomplete. Heat is not just coming in off the sun, but it is coming from your sweat. All that body heat hits the white clothing covering it, which means it is reflected right back towards the body. So, the best color to keep cool in the heat, it turns out, is to wear black—REALLY! Black absorbs everything coming in from the sun, but it also absorbs energy from the body instead of reflecting it back. This is where it gets interesting. . .how are we to find blousy, loose fitting black clothes like those summery white clothes. Black clothing needs a little help in atmospheric conditions.

Once black clothing absorbs heat, there has to be some way to radiate it away. I have a solution. . .especially for the boho flounce dress mini, midi, or the full-length frock, whether its linen, cotton, or chiffon. Just choose a black background and a colorful print. There are so many beautiful prints out there. But I believe the key is to wear clothing made from breathable fabrics, black or white. For the style that looks as cool as it can get, opt for a flowy dress to stay cool and comfortable in these rising temperatures.
